Gramps

I had the opportunity to work with Mike Del Marmol and Alex Burnard to help develop the look and features of Gramps in Wynwood Miami. The doors opened in conjunction with Art Basel 2012. On opening weekend Gramps hosted to live alligator wrestling, as sell as performances by Kool Keith, Kilo Kish, and Araabmuzic. I painted a gator head that night, and it somehow remained anchored in the yard for an extra 8 months. Also in the following months, I’ve been able to design some ads and collateral, and occasionally paint what we have dubbed the instagram wall, which is an active square space by the entrance meant for announcements, and drawings of butts.

I made designed the spiky roof, and the HOLLYWOOD rooftop lettering, and we convinced local mural legend $erge to hand-paint the typography across the front of the building.

Thrillist x Brian Butler

I did this rad last-minute-Halloween project with Thrillist. I chose the Zombie for Miami’s Thrillist page for obvious reasons, and gave him a little South Beach / Ultra tasteful YOLO flavor. I recommend pairing it with your standard issued I’m in Miami Bitch shirt, and a half-gallon of blood. Get the mask here.

VANNA

Vanna has an ongoing youtube series called the Tough Life, I made this graphic as a compilation of some of the weird moments in there.

Keep A Breast

Here is a boobie cast I painted for my pals at Keep A Breast. They asked for me to illustrate one of their initiative words. I went with action! I did it live at Warped Tour 2012. Then went over to catch the homies in Vanna.

IWTB x Brian Butler

These brutal keychain laminates have been banished to the deepest nether-regions of Todd Ryan White and Jack Wesley Schneider‘s collaborative blacklight merch-cave in Albuquerque, NM. Their dark exhibit, Damned If You Doom, will be on display through the end of February at Small Engine Gallery, and will also host night after night of earth shattering metal bands. Laminates were made in collaboration with I’m With The Band Passes.

Get Stoked! x Brian Butler

Here’s the cover I made for a compilation album befitting H.E.L.L.‘s mission to help buy more helmets, lights, and to work on Boston bike safety programs. I’ll have more details when the album comes out, but it looks like the album features Converge, Paint It Black, Vanna, Therefore I Am, Freezepop, and a number of other New England favorites. Check out Get Stoked Records!
